DAVIE — As Charles Clay continues to improve, the Dolphins feel they are moving closer to the two-tight end dynamic. If so, the offense can open things up more, perhaps creating even further opportunities for playmakers Davone Bess, Brandon Marshall, Brian Hartline and Reggie Bush. It surely worked in 2008 when Anthony Fasano and David Martin combined for the best tight end season in Dolphins history.

The Dolphins (4-8) have outscored opponents by 86 points in their four victories. The wins have all come in the past five weeks after Miami started 0-7 by losing a succession of close games. “We never felt like we were a 0-7 team,” receiver Brian Hartline said

By Ben Volin Palm Beach Post Staff Writer DAVIE — Dolphins offensive coordinator Brian Daboll didn’t even have to call the play – Matt Moore knew what his coach wanted. Miami’s 20-19 loss to Dallas on Thanksgiving was Moore’s seventh start under Daboll. Moore knew that on 2nd-and-9 at the Dallas 35, Daboll would call for a deep pass to Brandon Marshall.

Charles Trainor Jr./Miami Herald Reggie Bush’s performance has been one of the bright spots in an otherwise dismal season for the Dolphins. By Ben Volin Palm Beach Post Staff Writer Updated: 11:58 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 Posted: 7:53 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 DAVIE — With the Dolphins starting their season on a seven-game losing streak, and now essentially eliminated from the playoffs with a 3-8 record, plenty of attention has been spent on what went wrong.

The Dallas Cowboys entertained the resurgent Miami Dolphins at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington on Thanksgiving Day. Miami lost their first 7 games and came into the game at 3-7 with a 3 game winning streak. Dallas, thanks to some luck on Sunday, pulled out an overtime win over the hated Washington Redskins, and also came into the Turkey Day game with a 3 game winning streak

DAVIE— In a one-point loss there are plenty of areas that could have swung the tide to victory. None are more glaring from the Dolphins’ 20-19 Thanksgiving defeat than the reappearance of their old nemesis, the red-zone bugaboo.

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dolphins, who had the second-fewest takeaways in the league during the first half of the season, continued their recent interception binge Thursday. Vontae Davis and Sean Smith each picked off passes, giving the Dolphins six in their past three games. Davis interception, on Dallas first possession, was his second in the past three games and ended Tony Romos streak of 128 consecutive passes without a pick

The Dolphins can try to comfort themselves by noting, correctly so, that they have been very competitive during this 0-7 start, leading in six games, including three times in the fourth quarter. But heres the flip side: In going 0-for-September and October, the Dolphins have been so inept, so inefficient, in several areas, that they are on a pace to break team records in at least four ignominious categories

The Miami Dolphins added depth to its injury-depleted secondary by signing cornerback Jonathan Wade on Tuesday. Wade, who was selected by St. Louis in the third round of the 2007 NFL draft, has started 13 of the 59 games he’s played in his five-year NFL career
