Brandon Marshall’s two year Dolphins career — filled with highs, lows, and plenty of off-field drama — ended unceremoniously Tuesday when the Dolphins traded him to the Chicago Bears for two third-round draft choices. The deal frees up $5.8 million in cap space, leaving Miami less than $15 million under the cap and with multiple needs to fill.

FORT LAUDERDALE — So much for the Miami Dolphins having nothing to play for in the regular-season finale. Not only do they get one more shot at the New York Jets, they are in position to end their rival’s season earlier than expected. The Jets need to defeat the Dolphins on Sunday at Sun Life Stadium to have any shot of making the playoffs

FOXBORO — The New England Patriots are in the playoffs for the ninth time in 11 years. The Miami Dolphins missed them for the ninth time in 10. Both, though, have a lot at stake on Saturday with the Patriots going for a first-round bye and many Dolphins playing for jobs next season.

Well, apparently I either completely underestimated the Miami Dolphins or I gave far too much credit to the Oakland Raiders when I predicted the Raiders winning in Miami 20-17.

The Miami Dolphins fell to 0-6 earlier today with a 20-17 defeat against the New York Giants here at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Some things we can take away from the latest installment of the Dolphins’ 0-7 start: Miami Dolphins RB Reggie Bush eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark on Sunday.

The Miami Dolphins have a laundry list of injured players this week, but it appears all but one was healthy enough to practice on Thursday. Will Vontae Davis be healthy enough to play against the Giants? Starting cornerback Vontae Davis , who re-aggravated his hamstring injury in last Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos, apparently sat out his second straight practice to rest the hamstring strain.

(credit: Scott Cunningham/Getty Images) NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) — Miami Dolphins coach Tony Sparano is worried about his job security, and no wonder. Sparano could sense a seemingly insurmountable lead slipping away on Sunday, and after calling a timeout, he implored two officials to review a touchdown just scored by the Denver Broncos.
