The Miami Dolphins claimed a player off waivers Wednesday, but it wasn’t the one many had expected (and some had hoped for). While the Dolphins failed to enter a claim to controversial wide receiver Randy Moss, who went to the Tennessee Titans, they did claim cornerback Nate Ness off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks.

In NFL terms, the Dolphins got a “Victory Monday” after Sunday’s fourth consecutive road win. When they reconvene Wednesday, after hearing who received the in-house team awards distributed after wins, they will look at a package of 12 plays extracted by the coaches.

Edgar Thompson of the Palm Beach Post has tweeted that Odrick broke his leg at Wednesday’s practice. Ben Volin of the Post has confirmed that Odrick is injured and his season is likely over. It will be interesting to see if Odrick’s most recent injury has anything to do with returning from his prior injury too soon. At this point, that is just speculation.
