| Wife of Dolphins receiver Marshall back in jail | |
Updated: June 10, 2011, 7:30 PM ET
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall’s wife has been arrested again after previously being charged with stabbing him in the abdomen. The Broward Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to a 911 hang-up at the couple’s home Friday morning. Despite a protection order requiring her to stay at least 500 feet from the home, 27-year-old Michi Nogami-Marshall told deputies she had been living there while Marshall was out of town. When Marshall returned, an argument occurred, followed by the 911 call. Deputies charged Nogami-Marshall with violating her pre-trial release. She remained in jail Friday evening. Online court records didn’t list her attorney. Nogami-Marshall was charged in April with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after Marshall was stabbed with a kitchen knife. He has since recovered.

| Former Miami Dolphins star Bryan Cox might join Sparano’s staff | |
The Miami Dolphins are currently exploring the possibility of adding another former NFL player to its coaching staff, and this time it’s a name Miami’s fans know well. Bryan Cox, who was named to three Pro Bowls during a successful five-year stint as a linebacker for the Dolphins, interviewed this week to join coach Tony Sparano’s staff, sources said Wednesday. The specialized capacity of his role is unknown. A fifth-round draft pick by the Dolphins in 1991, Cox most recently was a defensive line coach in Cleveland since 2009, but he was among the staff’s casualties in the wake of last month’s firing of head coach Eric Mangini. Cox got his start in coaching as an assistant defensive line coach for the Jets from 2006 to 2008. He has made a solid impression on players, especially given his playing experience. If Sparano hires him, he’d be the second former NFL star hired by the staff in the last month. The team also added former wide receiver Ike Hilliard to serve as an assistant wide receivers coach. The Dolphins do currently have a defensive line coach (Kacy Rodgers) and linebackers coach (Bill Sheridan). Cox’s role is not expected to interfere with either of those assistants. It is more likely to be a role similar to Hilliard’s. Feel free to leave your comments below. |
